1986 Italian Vintage Road Bike in Extra Large. Refurbished vintage road bike that I have traced back to around 1986. It is built from Colombus Aelle tubing which combines strength and lightness and has recently had a professional powder-coating by ABC Enamelling near Bristol - it's an excellent job as can be seen. Cinelli bars and 3TTT stem. Full chromed forks at front and half chromed forks at rear. The frame is suitable for those who are 6 feet plus as it's an extra large. It has a Shimano 600 groupset throughout, has a close ratio 6 speed cassette and 52/42 chainrings upfront in keeping with its race-bred pedigree. It has grey anodized Wolber rims and stainless steel double butted spokes. Both wheels are true and the hubs were stripped down and re-greased a few months ago. It has cork ribbon bar tape, a flux saddle and quill style pedals. While in near-excellent condition and in keeping with its age, it has a few minor things that can be easily attended to. The final drive sprocket is worn and there is a little bit of superficial rust around the bottom bracket rust. It has a few minor marks on the stem and the decals. It comes with 23mm Continental tyres (they have no more than 200 miles on them). Overall I'm very sad to see it go but have too many bikes (!) and have just run out of space. No time wasters please, if you are serious, test rides are possible in Bloomsbury. I reserve the right to withdraw the bike from the auction as it's advertised elsewhere. This is an appreciating classic as well as a reliable everyday bike. Thanks for looking.
