The hub gear with itsinternal clutch is an absolute dream to use compared to derailleurs - it evenallows you to change gears at a standstill.Selling as I'veprogressed to 50-mile very hilly rides and want a few more gears but was using the bike for those same rides for 6 months! 2018 model with high quality parts – see detailed specifications Shimano Alfine 8-speed internal hub, meaning no fiddly derailleurs 700c x 32c wheels and 32mm tyres for all-round usage that are fast but grippy 'Large' size strong aluminium frame (I'm 6'3 and 14 stone) Carbon front fork Front/rear hydraulic disc brakesExtras Raceblade Pro XL front/rear mudguards (£60 new) Schwalbe Marathon Plus puncture-proof tyres (never had a puncture they are fantastic) with plenty of tread High quality flat V8 Pedals V2 Black (not suitable for clip-in’s) Stronger Deda Zero 1 seat postCondition Used, with only 12 miles since most recent service and never used off-road Purchased in 2018 from Cycle Republic for £849 - worth over £1,000 with extras Good condition with general wear and tear - see photos Regularly serviced, recently 'silver' serviced in October 2020 (inc. new chain and disc pads) Hub sometimes slips in 4th gear when excess pressure applied (all other gears fine) which local bike shop advised may need Shimano to service if they could not fix it - reflected in lower asking price. UPDATE: I have spoken to the bike shop who advised to better align the yellow markers (see photo). Tried up local hills in 4th gear under heavy weight and not a single slip!!! Obviously that alignment is crucial and perhaps initial cable stretch moved it.
