Welcome to the sale of this colnago cx. This has been a much loved bike and really the bike that got me into road cycling. I bought the bike in 2016 after much pressure from friends and have loved every miniute of it since. I am only selling as i recently bought a new bike on abit of a spur of the moment. Both bikes are very similar and i will just use the new bike so this one should go to a new home.
The frame is a size 48 sloping, Colnago measure frames differently to other brands. My other bike is a size 52. Last time i checked i was 173 cm.
The carbon fibre CX Zero frame and fork was developed to be use in the spring classics by team europestar. Therefore it is a very compliant frame and i have found it extremly comfortable. This doesnt mean it is a slow bike. I can certainly hustle i along. I managed just over 4 hours for the ride London ride 100 on this bike and can lap richmond park in 16 min laps, plus the KOM on the first bend of Dark Hill a hotly contested hill in London \ Richmond park.
The original spec for the bike was very good but i have upgraded as and when i have seen fit.
The groupset is Ultegra 8000 di2 hydraulic disc break with etube bluetooth. This delivers faultless shifting and the ability to customise shifting through the shimano app. The bluetooth also warns you of the di2 battery level which is a handy reminder. However battery life seems to be around 2 months or so.
Brakes are hydraulic shimano with Dura Ace rotors so the bike stops perfectly in the wet or dry.
I have changed the bars to ritchey super lodgic 2 carbon fibre bars. The addition of Carbon bars does a very good job of eliminating road buzz. Fizik bar tape in good condition.
Stem is a deda super zero. I changed it for a better fit and i like the chunckier look.
Cranks are ultegra 6800 with 52\36 chain rings in good condition and little use as i used a 53\39 Q ring set up which i have removed.
Rear cassette is 11-28
KMC chain.
The wheels are dt swiss r24 db. They roll really well with no bearing play, free hub has a nice click to it too.
Tyres are gp4000 with plenty of wear left.
Saddle is a selle italia super flow. I find it comfortable hopefully the buyer does to.
Titanium and carbin fibre quick release skewers.
Colnago carbon fibre bottle cages plus 2 x spare disc break rotors and 2 x quick release skewers.
There are no pedals with the bike however if you want to buy the pedals then i have ultegra ones that i have used with the bike for an extra £80 on the sale price.
In terms of wear there are a few little chips mainly from riding down a road that was melting in the summer so the tar was flicked all over the place. There is also a small scuff on the rear mech caused by a misfortunate accident when i was cycling into regents park, someone cycled across the road in front of me. Fortunatly i was slowing to meet a friend and both of us were fine, i took the brunt of the knock. The bike was checked over and i only had to replace the Mech hanger.
