Honda Step Compo Electric Bicycle Custom Project

Honda Step Compo Project with receipts, 3x batteries, charger and 100v transformer. This bike is fitted with 20" wheels and a 7 speed Shimano Nexus  hub. 20" wheel & 7 speed Shimano SG-7R46 re-geared project complete with most original parts that have been replaced for re-installation if you wish. Currently the bike needs completing/setting up. The aim of the custom work was to enable a higher cruising speed with the larger wheels, larger primary drive gear, smaller rear cog and a 7 speed hub replacing the original 3 speed hub fitted to the original 16" wheels (included in this sale). Very rare iconic electric bike bought originally in Tokyo with documentation in the early 00s. Complete with charger and 240v / 100v (very important) adaptor. Two batteries need re-celling and one holds around 80% charge. Mudguards, side-caliper brakes and bespoke lock.  All welding carried out by legend Dave Pearce of Tigcraft fame. Uniquely this project comes with an English Workshop Manual -  I had the original Japanese manual translated to a high standard.  The Honda Step Compo remains one of the very best folding electric bikes ever manufactured.  Weighing under 18kg it was light and easy to fold and store. It was also exciting and fun to ride with plenty of power to make the most of it's 3-speed Shimano hub. Its aircraft-grade Aluminium frame had beautiful lines with a look that has never been matched (though attempts were made to imitate it).These bikes rarely come up and was purchased originally from Tokyo in the 00s.
