Vintage 1976 BSA Tour de france Road bike , 28" wheels, centre pull brakes .
This bike has been complely stripped down and restored (everything !) , and rides like a dream , it weighs in at just 11kg minus the pedals , and is a "sheep in wolf's clothing "and will easily keep up with modern bikes .
new "old stock ,"items fitted were
rear mech, front and rear wheels , 5 speed screw-on cassette (30t-14) , alloy handlebars and the "shortie" mudgaurds.
The Ali seat post is a modern one .
all new period brake and gear cables , the brake pads are new oversize V-brake type as they larger for better stopping.
the tyres are conti,s ultra sport .
The frame is steel and was stripped and sprayed with new decals I had specially made.
I have changed the old heavey steel chaiset for a period alloy campagnolio chainset (52t- 38) .
I changed the front wheel nuts for the old style wing nuts , which I had to cut new metric threads, these wing nuts are soft alloy and should not be over tightened.
not to sure of the frame size ,but im 5ft ,10 and is just right for me.
In its day it would have been called a ..ten-gear-racer !
