Vintage French hand built bike. Condition is "Seller refurbished". Would prefer pick up in person but can do courier in bike box for £27.50The first thing to say is that this is NOT a Gitane. I bought this frame for my son around 12 years ago and it was badged by an obscure French builder based in the middle of nowhere. Despite extensive research I could find nothing out about him. I could not of course get replacement decals so I decided to have it powder coated by Armourtex in Gitane blue and then applied Gitane decals from H Lloyd and then lacquer. My son soon grew out of the frame size so it has been languishing in my collection unused for over 10 years.Whoever made the frame was a master builder. The lug work is superb and just checkout the fastback seat stays. The material used is unknown Columbus as evidenced by the flying dove logo stamped into the steerer tube (not visible in the photos but I guarantee it is there). There is a small cosmetic dint on the top tube.Measurements are 49cm c to c seat tube and 51.5 cm c to c top tube. So small adult / boy.All the fittings are French sized hence the stem is resized to 22mm. Seat post is also 26.6 (a nice fluted JPR).Group set is Shimano Tiagra, saddle good quality Bontrager, bars Deda and the wheels hand built using Jalco GX460 high profile rims, DT Swiss spokes and shod with 25mm Gatorskins. Shimano 600 headset. All in all, ready to go, almost as newly refurbished.Could be easily turned into an eroica bike with non aero brakes and down tube shifters because the frame is definitely 1970s
